May Day 1929
Queen Helen I.
Attendants to the queen were Margaret Thompson, maid of honor, Marian Sterns, Laverne Hughes, Muriel Nachand, Vera Holbrook, Flora Hancock and Margaret Rakel. Court Jesters were Bonnibelle Littlefield and Betty Merrick.
May Day this year was one of the peppiest, liveliest and most delightful days that West Linn has ever enjoyed. The eighth grades from the various elementary schools were the guests of the high school as well as participants in the relay races, a part of the May Day events.
Following the coronation the queen and her court were royally entertained by the hundred and fifty girls taking part in dances and drills, consisting of a gymnastic drill, grand march, wand drill, Swedish folk dances, Bleking and Klapp Dans, foursome reel, Scotch dance, the May Pole minuet and the Knights Joust.
